In this expert level Xero course, you will learn all there is to know about managing inventory with Xero.

Inventory Management Fundamentals

In this lesson, you will learn about choosing Xero inventory as a solution for managing products in any business – it’s important to understand what it can do and can’t do before you suggest using Xero inventory to any client. You will learn why a business needs to track inventory and the common workflows and how-to’s for managing inventory using Xero.

Inventory Setup

In this lesson, you will learn how to setup Xero inventory correctly initially so you can manage it effectively and accurately ongoing. All the videos will take you through how to start a Xero file from scratch and setup the inventory module. You will see how to use your own Demo Company to practice what you learn about managing inventory in Xero which is also part of the assignment you will need to complete to receive your Certificate of Achievement.

Managing Purchases

In this lesson, you will learn all about managing the purchase of inventory and how to manage incoming products. You will learn how to process and send purchase orders, record stock received, manage split receipting and how Xero manages the value of stock.

Managing Sales

In this lesson, you will learn all about managing sales orders and invoices in Xero when selling inventory. You will learn the importance of quotes, how to send quotes with product images, how to manage backorders and much more.

Stock Adjustments

In this lesson, you will learn how to manage stock adjustments when stock has been damaged, miscounted or needs to revalued. For tracked items, you can increase quantity, decrease quantity or revalue stock and doing so make the relevant adjustments on the Balance Sheet.

Managing Inventory Items

In this lesson, you will learn how to add, edit and manage products individually and in bulk. You will also learn how to record product variants such as size and colour. You will learn what you can and can’t do with untracked and tracked inventory items.

Reporting Overview

In this lesson, you will learn the basics of the new reports in Xero and how you can use them to report on stock on hand quantities and values and reconcile stock accounts to your financial reports such as the Profit & Loss and the Balance Sheet.
